Growing up I was considered one of those kids who had "it" together. If I could go back 5 years and ask anyone, they would probably put money on me having a bachelor's by now... well not so much. You see, deciding a major, a focus, has haunted me. I feel it limiting. Something that feels comparable to me as a death sentence. Permanent and miserable. Its been discouraging, embaressing, and easier ignored then solved.
Stacey was in town from San Diego to plan her and Donnys wedding in May. Since she was crazy busy with work, I found, contacted, and scheduled meetings with multiple vendors to get things in motion! It was so much fun organizing and scheduling and planning.I think I enjoyed it more assisting then when I was planning my own wedding! I felt so accomplished and successful when it all worked out!
Stacey's mom made a comment That I would make a great executive assistant and it actually sounds appealing and like I would feel very complete and successful in that position!
I would love to be an event planner but the nights and weekends wouldn't be ideal... maybe that's an avenue to explore?
I know my strengths. I would love to find something that I can shine at with them... back to the drawing board?

Becoming Mommy and Daddy
This is quite a bit delayed but Sam and I became proud parents July 31st! I have been begging and putting the guilt trip on Sam for quite some time and finally we have our own little addition. I became in contact with Small Paws Rescue via my parents vet and before we knew it... we were dog owners! Well more like temp dog owners. This is how I was able to bring him home, we are officially fostering him until he is better to be up for adoption. (He won't be going far though!)
This was the first time we met him at Aztec Animal Hospital where he received his surgery. Meet Bedford! He was hit by a car in Phoenix and left on the side of the road, and someone else picked him up and dropped him off at a shelter. Because his injuries were so extensive he was put on the E-list. After laying in pain for a week and a half with a broken ulna, the shelter finally called SPR and he was picked up and brought to Aztec. This happened to be the time when I was put in contact with the rescue and they said he needed a home. We went and met Bedford a few days after his surgery to let him know he would be coming to a loving home! He not only had a broken Ulna, but Tick Fever, a cracked tooth, kennel cough, and had to be neutered. Poor little guy had gone through a lot! I had everything ready for his anticipated arrival! He was so badly matted that they had to completely shave him! Here are some pictures of his arrival...
Since his leg is broken, we agreed to take him to the vet every two weeks for a check up. It has been an adventure in itself! We have definitely been there more then once ever two weeks! Our first visit they decided they wanted to put his leg in a splint and to add calcium as a supplement to his diet. Not even two hours after he was home his poor paw had swollen so big his poor nails couldn't be splayed any more. Sam brought him back to the vet where they removed the splint and asked us to bring him back the next day. We did that and they re-wrapped his splint. The next morning, he wouldn't eat his breakfast, was really whiney and vocal and sure enough... swollen paw! I had to take him to another place because it was sunday and he was finally wrapped correctly! Poor guy!

Bedford has the sweetest personality! I have no idea how someone could have possibly left him behind! He loves to be loved, to be held, to be in anyones company. We are so lucky to have found him and make him a part of our family. We are truly blessed! And I think even Sam will admit, that he is happy to have this wonderful little guy in our lives, (even though he fought me tooth and nail!) He kind of has some hair now, and will hopefully be out of a cast soon since its been 6 weeks since the surgery. Welcome home Bedford!

8 1/2 Months later...
So life has moved a very quickly since the wedding. I started a new job at the bank. We bought and moved into our first house. And life just doesn't seem to stop for a second for us to catch our breath.

I never thought I would enjoy creating our home so much! We have been creating a place to mold our life. I have had so much fun and learned a whole lot. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that not only are we married, but we OWN a house, talk about being grown-ups right!? It has been a lot of fun painting, decorating, buying new furniture, and I even assisted in hand making all of our window treatments! I LOVE our home! It has been such a great experience getting to watch it built from the ground up and molding it to fit our lives. 5 years ago, I would have never guessed I would have been so lucky and so blessed to be where I am today!
