Growing up I was considered one of those kids who had "it" together. If I could go back 5 years and ask anyone, they would probably put money on me having a bachelor's by now... well not so much. You see, deciding a major, a focus, has haunted me. I feel it limiting. Something that feels comparable to me as a death sentence. Permanent and miserable. Its been discouraging, embaressing, and easier ignored then solved.
Stacey was in town from San Diego to plan her and Donnys wedding in May. Since she was crazy busy with work, I found, contacted, and scheduled meetings with multiple vendors to get things in motion! It was so much fun organizing and scheduling and planning.I think I enjoyed it more assisting then when I was planning my own wedding! I felt so accomplished and successful when it all worked out!
Stacey's mom made a comment That I would make a great executive assistant and it actually sounds appealing and like I would feel very complete and successful in that position!
I would love to be an event planner but the nights and weekends wouldn't be ideal... maybe that's an avenue to explore?
I know my strengths. I would love to find something that I can shine at with them... back to the drawing board?
This post is very intersting. During our wedding planning process I found it to be my life calling as well. I enjoyed it so much and was actually depressed after it ended for a few months. Actually just finally settling with the fact that it's OK. I always wanted to be an event planner but it doesnt work if you want to raise a family (not in my eyes anyways, I know people do it.) It sucks. I wish I could open up a wedding venue and just be the owner/manager and not work the events but do all the planning along the way. So much easier said than done. Good luck with everything though, I am sure you will figure it out soon!!! :)
